Hi, I am Jorin, the developer behind Shaper.

Over the years, I have been working on data projects from analytics dashboards to 3rd-party integrations and complex data export interfaces, primarily in regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services.

I’ve seen firsthand how the complexity of traditional data tools can become a liability in these environments. Adding complex, multi-tenant SaaS tools not only makes the overall system more difficult to maintain, but it often creates significant hurdles for security and compliance reviews.

I started Taleshape to simplify how we build data products while ensuring that sensitive data remains completely sovereign.

Two trends make this possible today:

1. DuckDB allowing for high-performance querying directly across local data sources.
2. AI-powered development making it easier than ever to write and maintain the SQL queries that drive our insights.

SQL is already the best language for describing data. With Shaper, it also describes how that data is visualized—creating a workflow that is auditable, reproducible, and secure by design.
